Body Balance class

As my triathlon season is now over, I thought I would try out a Body Balance class with a view to increasing my core strength/stability. So what is Body Balance? The official description is "BodyBalance is the Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance."

So what was it like? Pretty good actually! Once we had got past the first few minutes of Tai Chi rubbish (sorry to upset you Tai Chi lovers) and got into the yoga, balance & core work and stretching/flexibility parts it got very good. It emphasised to me how weak my core is and how inflexible I am! From what I can see of the class it is very good for improving joint flexibility and range of movement and increasing your core strength (as well as focusing the mind - something we could all do after a hard tri season). So my recommendation - give it a go. We all ignore our core, well this is a perfect compliment to the technique and strength work we'll be doing over the winter months. You know it makes sense!
