I went out with a friend of mine, Chris Tasker, and we were out for about 2:45, the weather was really poor, the wind and rain always seemed to be in our faces. Chris is a strong rider, and even though it was meant to be a long steady ride, there times when the pace was picked up (not by me!) and I was dropped! He was kind enough to wait for me and it turned out to be a great ride in the end. I've always done my rides on my own, but it was great motivation to get out with a training partner and seeing as Chris is doing IM Austria with me next year we'll keep going out together on these rides over the horrible winter months and hopefully get some good base miles in. As they say "winter miles - summer smiles!". Train smart bloggers.

Nice effort Frank. i have been riding with my local bike club for the past 7 weeks. I cover between 58 and 73 miles each Sunday. Group riding is great and it makes the ride go so fast - in many ways!
Sounds like my lovely ride around Lago d'Orta on Sunday....not! There are always loads of cyclists about in Italy at weekends, especially around any lake; I actually got some solid climbs in for a change too!
