Still cold............

Yes, it's still cold, which means more time on the turbo (doing some intervals and the SufferFest videos) and the running machine; however it seems to be getting a little warmer, hopefully it'll be safe enough to get outside and do some real training soon. As it happens I've been indoors a lot recently anyway, in trying to complete my 12 days of swimming challenge. It's getting a little tougher now, my shoulders definitely know they've been working overtime that's for sure!

I'm still undecided on my racing plans for next year, however the European Long course champs (4k/120k/30k) are on my radar. I'm not sure if I'd qualify and not sure of the logistics of getting to the race (the 2011 race is in Finland), but it is something I am seriously thinking about. If this fails to materialise then I think I will do some sprints and Olympic races and then focus on 2 middle distance races (the Weymouth middle and The Vitruvian perhaps). Who knows?

Train smart guys over the festive season, don't overdo it (training, that is!), if you're feeling unwell you may as well miss the session, it'll not make any difference come June/July/August (Sags, are you listening?).

Finland sounds like fun.

Love your last comment! :-)

Finland is expensive I believe but sounds like an interesting place to visit; but racing GB at championships never seemed to allow time to explore the places you visit!

You would easily qualify for the team with your excellent 2010 IM time I would have thought.

I too like your last comment - he got hammered by all of us in his last blog!

Just read a fascinating research paper on the balance of long/interval trainig see my blog!

Finland would be nice but the logistics of getting there and the fact that they're quite inexperienced at holding larger triathlon events maybe a negative.

I'll try to read that paper, as long as it's not too long!
