Tour of Britain

The Tour of Britain rolled through South Wales last week, riding some of the "best" climbs the region has to offer. I've ridden these climbs, believe me they're very tough, but to see these guys hammering up them was a sight to behold.

One of the bigger climbs is up Caerphilly Mountain and it was Thor Hushovd who was one of around 25 riders to make it up the first category climb before the race dropped into the finish, to take the win. Awesome racing and great climbing in my own backyard!

My next challenge will be the Pembrokeshire Coastal Challenge, which is 3 marathons in 3 days on the coastal paths of west Wales. Sounds like fun, eh? Here's the official synopsis:

It took extensive research and many weeks spent wandering around the Welsh coast line but votwo have found the next challenge.... Pembrokeshire! Now in its 3rd year after a very succsessful 2nd event in 2010. The classic self navigation marathon a day for 3 days over coastal terrain is rolled out again and as ever you can trust votwo to have found the most challenging terrain for your running pleasure!

Train and race smart all!
