Another good week

Last week was another good week of training. Easy week this week, which is nice! Last week was much of the same as the previous couple of weeks, a couple of swims, 3 bikes and 3 runs, including a little bit of strength/core work and some of the infamous Tabata sprints! Boy, do they hurt!

My Sunday ride was pretty good, the main reason being I felt like I was riding a new shiney bike. In fact, it had been in the shop getting serviced; so it arrived back to me in perfect condition including new brake blocks, bar tape and mud guards (for the crappy Welsh weather we seem to be having all the time). It seemed so much nicer and easier, all in the head I suppose. And I know my training partner will appreciate the new guards as he was getting stinking dirty sat behind me on our long Sunday rides!

I’ve had to pull out of the Lanzarote training camp due to family reasons, which is disappointing as it’s a great lift to the year, but family must come first to my Ironman training. Instead I’m hoping to get down to France with a mate of mine (he has a place down there) in April/May to get some big miles in before my A race in Austria in early July. I had hoped to get out to Cyprus on the Long Distance training camp, but that seems to have died a death, so must make my own plans instead. Anyone planning on going down to Devon/Cornwall for a week like some of the guys did in previous years?

Hi Frank, a week cycling in Devon or Cornwall sounds great. I will have to see how things are when I get to my new job but I'm definitely interested.
