The weather was absolutely atrocious! 25mph winds and lots and lots of rain! I wasn't expecting too much from the race as it is early season, couple that with the crap weather and I was just hoping to get through it in one piece!
To cut a long story short, I managed to get round in 1hr31'38. That's 2 minutes quicker than last year on this course and if I was honest I had hoped to go between 1hr31 and 1hr33 before seeing the weather, so was well pleased with the race, particularly considering the conditions! Having looked through previous results it would seem that everyone was at least 2 mins slower than previous years (due to the weather), so I think I can say I could have been on for my first sub 1hr30 had the Gods been kind to me. No matter, my training is going in the right direction and that's all that counts. IronMan Austria is the bigger picture, not chasing half marathon times in local races.
Must dash, got a massage booked for my weary quads! Train smart all!

Well done Frank, it's always nice when you get results that reassure you that all the hard work is having a positive effect.
Just a shame I won't be at the Dambuster or the Vitruvian so you can kick my butt!
Great result Frank. You are on course for a decent IM Austria!
Cheers guys, happy with my progress but my quads are disagreeing with me at the moment!
Hey Turbo, you sure I can't persuade you to do the Vit, come on, you know you want to!
No!
Leave the cyclist alone!
Come on Turbo, you know you want to! :-)
