I went out for my standard Sunday long run and my right calf felt tight from very early on, I continued on but after about 20 minutes my achilles was sore, so turned around and headed home. The last 10 minutes I painfully hobbled home, not a pretty sight!
So where am I now? Well, it's still sore, not exactly painful but sore. I guess I'll stay away from running for a few days, rest it up and perhaps I'll get back into the pool (I haven't been in the pool for months!). Train smart all!

Nooooooo! Chat with me dude. i am now well educated on Achilles rehab!
Eccentric loading is the key!
Rest up mate, absolutely nothing to be gained by training with an injury in early December, but a heck of a lot to lose if you make it worse. Rest up, eat, drink and make merry. Well that's what I'm doing (without the injury!).
Resting up on the running side Turbo, but still doing some biking/spinning/turbo and I actually went in the pool yesterday. Throwing in some core/circuits/pre-hab stuff too, feeling good. Looking at trying out the achilles on the weekend, but not a la Sags style, nice gentle 10 min jog I think. Train smart.
