Quick Lanzarote de-brief

Well, I've been back from my training camp in Lanzarote for about a week now, and I must admit, it was awesome! I've been to Club La Santa a few times and it never seems to be a let down. What more can you ask for, a 50m pool on your doorstep, an athletics track just next door, lots of classes to do and some amazing scenery for those long (windy & hilly!) rides.

I took it fairly steady on the trainig front, I've seen too many guys blow up (or break down) after about day 4. My plan was to train every day and get some decent road miles in my legs; and I'm pleased to report that I achieved these aims. I may not have been cycling with the "fast boys" but I got what I wanted out of the camp. Throw in a nails brick session, an aquathlon and a triathlon race, that was enough intensity for me!

I'm a bit tired this week. I'm not having a traditional recovery week this week, mainly as I'm away with work next week and won't be able to train properly, so that will be my recovery week. This week I've been trying to keep up a bit of volume, with not a lot of intensity and just train in an unstructured way, training on feel. After my recovery week I'll have another block of training (including a duathlon race in west Wales) before heading out to Fuerterventura with James and Kelda for another training camp. I must get some more road miles in before then, otherwise these two will have me blowing out of my ass all the way around Fuerterventura! Train smart all!

Don't worry Frank, I'm not going to be beasting anyone on the bike. I'm really enjoying my new style of training and it doesn't involve hammering miles on long rides. I'm averaging 15 mph holding my heart rate around 140 (75% of mhr).

Looking forward to having fun in the sun too, volley ball maybe, some Grok sprinting ... and generally larking about, life's for enjoying not nailing yourself into oblivion!

Don't believe a word she says Frank; I here K's doing 20 minute intervals at 120% of FTP and has got quads like Jan Ullrich. :-)

Don't worry you both have the same power to weight ratio. That is you both put out the same AWESOME power and weigh the same as a Hummingbird! Lol.
