Yes, I'm feeling a little tired today and if I'm honest I've felt tired for the last couple of days. As you may be aware, James, Kelda and I didn't get out to Fuerterventura for our training camp due to the ash cloud that disrupted the whole country (if it's not wind, rain, snow or leaves on the track, it's something else!). So I decided to have a "big" week at home instead. I've been training hard (increased volume & intensity) for a week now and it's starting to take its toil. I planned to do a short intense turbo session this morning, I started it, felt rubbish from the start, so just canned it! I guess I should have listened to my body, but as I had time to do the session (i.e. the day off) I felt obliged to do it.
So today's training session will actually consist of a 20 min spin on the turbo and a long walk (I plan to go out and walk for an hour or two this afternoon). I have a few chores to do in the mean time (bank, post office, Argos trip) and am doing some sports massage tonight for a friend, but really I intend on relaxing (long walk) and I'm going to try to grab a nap too if I can. Tip of the day: listen to your body! Train smart all.

Listening to your body is the key Frank as you will soon discover as you read!
I note, increased volume and intensity ... this is the problem, or rather the reason for your tiredness. Either up the volume keeping the intensity at 75% OR add in some extra intensity that is short and proper hard. Trying both will fatigue.
Glad you were able to enjoy some sunshine this afternoon. Walking is great and one of the things that helped me recover back in February.
Kelda
ps I conquered the Kirkstone Pass today, it is a beast!
The increase in volume and intensity were not in the same session, it was either an increase in volume OR intensity. Feeling better today!
