New gear........

I bought these great Spiuk Casta triathlon shoes today! I've had the same Shimano triathlon shoes for about 10 years and I've been promising myself a new pair of cycling shoes for ages, so I took the plunge and picked up these bad boys!

I like the vented sole on these and the large outward opening main strap with its reverse velcro which attacts to the outer upper to allow the shoe to stay open for easy foot entry. I never had this on my old shoe, so that should help in T1. These shoes are used by the Spanish national squad, so if they're good enough for Gomez and Rana, then they're good enough for me! I also bought some Look Keo pedals to go with them, these will get tested on tomorrow's bike ride. Train smart all!

Nice! I'm still in my trusty shimano tro1s! About 7 years old now lol!

I tried them today on my (very wet) bike ride. Very good, I like them, I'll have to tweak the cleats a little bit though, I had a slight niggle on the knee. Nothing to worry about I'm sure.

Nice kit, i have a pair of top of the range spiuk mtb shoes that I won last year in a duathlon, not worn them yet as I don't have an mtb but they sure are a nice looking shoe, must get a bike sorted so I can use them before being tempted to ebay them!

Vented soles are great for when you pi$$ on the bike. The shoes still smell though.

Last time I saw something like that, they were on the feet of a Belgian Detective. If he brings those abominations to Playitas.....they'll smell of my wee by the time the week's out ;-))
