It's official!

Yes, it's official, Ironman Wales is happening! It will be taking place on 11 September 2011 in Tenby with 50 qualifying slots for Kona (more than at Ironman UK this year I believe). I'm sure this will be a great event, maybe not as fast as some of the big European races but it will have some breathtaking scenery with the opportunity for the competitors to have a great family holiday at the same time. If I wasn't in Ironman retirement, I would be very interested!

Training for the Cardiff half marathon in 3 weeks time is going well so far. No injuries and my training times are (so far) looking good, so I just need to stay healthy and injury free before entering my taper in a weeks time and everything should be good for a successful race. Only time will tell.

No plans so far for next years races, any thoughts bloggers? Train smart!

Train for Standard Distance and race a couple of middle distance off that training. You will fly after the training you have in the bank from this year!

Ironman? Wales? September? Rain? Wind? Hills?

Not for me thank you!

Probably stick to the shorter stuff next year mate, give IM Wales a miss, but might consider the marathon as part of a relay to finish off the season. What do you think, a sub 5 bike leg to set me up for the run? :-)
