I went to a Pilates class.......
I went to a Pilates class yesterday and I must say, I quite enjoyed it. It was the first lesson of a 5 week beginners class run by a friend of mine, John Bruno of John Bruno Total Training. Over this winter period it was my intention to get strong in the core so when John mentioned the class, I thought, why not?
We all know Pilates is used to promote correct posture and breathing, whilst enhancing mobility and stability throughout the body, and this mobility in the lower spine was something I was particularly looking for. Whilst improving posture, Pilates will also build your body's core strength through a series of low impact stretching and conditioning exercises, something totally different to our usual lung busting sessions! I like it, and it was nothing to do with the male/female ratio in the class! Train smart all!
