Cardiff Parkrun

I've been away from blogland for a while, busy doing Open University assignments and getting ready for the long-awaited exam. I've still got 10 days until the exam, but some serious study is in order to get through it.

I've been doing some good run training lately and I've just joined a local running club (but not run with them yet), so I went to the local 5k Parkrun this morning to meet the guys and try to bash out a fast 5k. I think "fast" is relative, but I was hoping to break 18 minutes by Xmas. I ran a 5k a month ago and went 18:22, so I thought sub 18 by Xmas was a real possibility. Anyway, the bottom line is, the race went well, I felt strong for the majority of the run and managed to come home in 17:59!!! Very pleased with that as I've run 17:56 about 18 months ago, but have been no where near that time since, so this proves the training is going in the right direction! Train smart all!
