Cardiff ParkRun
I did the Cardiff 5k ParkRun again this morning, it's a great race, I can't believe it's FREE and is on every Saturday of the year! I went into this run very tired, I had some tough run sessions in the week (Tuesday and Thursday) and was feeling a little battered and bruised if I'm honest.
Anyway, I managed to roughly hold my target pace, thanks in part to pacing off another runner who seemed to be running at the pace I wanted to run, and managed a push at the end to come home in 11th place and a time of 17:58 (on my watch, and that's all that counts!). Very pleased with that, it shows the training is going well and if I can run a sub 18min 5k tired, that bodes well for some spring duathlons! Race and train smart all!
