The start of this week hasn't been too bad so far (apart from the 2hr15 run in the sweltering heat off a 30 min spin yesterday), but I guess after a 17 hour week last week a little bit of R&R is needed too. Tomorrow we start to step it up with a 6 hour bike (nice and steady pace) followed by a 10k run (thanks coach!). This will be a another big test for me, but a great chance to log some big miles whilst trying out a few more nutrition strategies (just eat loads as a mate told me!). Not sure what is planned for the rest of the week, I'm a little scared to look at the moment to be honest, but I know Sunday will be another big bike day similar to tomorrow, except it'll be 7 hours on the bike followed by a 10k run. Oh, happy days!

Why do a 7 hour bike ride? Surely you'll finish the IM bike leg much quicker than that? I'd have thought shorter and harder would have been better than over-distance - but then what do I know??? Am genuinely interested in the reasoning though.
Your training seems to be going very well. Keep at it mate.
You'll have to run that one past coach Neill mate.
Maybe it's a mental thing? Either mental for riding a bike for 7 hours or to get mentally used to being on a bike for 7 hours! I suppose an IM bike leg would feel short after 7 hour rides?
